On my first year in Switzerland, I reached out to the local design community, to get a better understand the dynamics of design in the area. This is how I came to meet Christoph Arnold, a talented person who’s passion is concrete.

The presence of concrete is everywhere if you, like me, happen to live in a highly urbanized area. Concrete is on the buildings around us, on our streets and supporting bridges. In comparison to this, we see relatively less small scaled products done in this same material. This is where my mind started to incubate an idea.

Thinking about concrete we think about big scaled projects, sturdy and massive shapes with a heavy weight. So my starting point was, how can I contradict this ideas? Can I trick others perspectives and finally their minds into seeing concrete in another way?

This is how Floating Geometries is born. With this collection I wanted to create a line of products which through the implementation of slender volumes and smooth lines appears to be a light weighted product. This with the finality of challenging the perception of the observers.
